It comes with a box of parts: starter, a/c compressor, alternator. Hopefully I can flip those and have a free motor. Why don't people ever drain the oil before pulling the motor?

Holy crap! $20?!

Posible coffee table build?

Yup, couldn't believe it. This is the third motor I got for under $50.

That would go great in any MG or Triumph.

Possible. Maybe an end table to go with a V8. It's not that big. I have a jeep 4.0 to do too, just hard to find time.

I have neither of those. I will likely dis assemble just for kicks.

You should acquire one of them.

I have acquired too many cars as it is.
If I had some property I would have tried to get a TR7 I found on a garage to be demoed. I am maxed out on space.

how can you go through the whole process of pulling an engine and not drain all the fluids

3/5 motors I have gotten are like this. Pick motor up, set it down. Don't knock it over.
By the way there is another cheap Ford V6 about 45 minutes from me. $50 for that. I'll pass. I have enough to piddle with for now.

Is this the one that was posted yesterday? Would've grabbed it if it weren't in another state.

Yeah I posted it here, then text the guy. Since I brought my lunch to work most days this week it was a justified expense.
I don't think I'll be getting any motor for less.

You inspired me to look to see what was available in my area. Cheapest I've seen so far is $300

That price is crazy awesome!
The theory with leaving oil in the engine is to keep as much oil on all of the parts as possible to prevent rust, corrosion, and or seizing. I'm not going to comment on the efficacy of said theory except to say that unless the engine is turning periodically most of the parts will lose their lubrication slowly over time due to the effects of gravity. But that's the theory and it has been followed by many for a very long time.

I'd love to pick up something like this and take it apart for fun.
